If you mess up your checking account, will the bank help you get it back in order?
The good news is that most banks want to help their customers keep accurate balances in their checking accounts. Banks usually have customer service representatives who can assist you by looking up account balances and reviewing transactions to help you reconcile your account. Depending on what type of checking account you have, this service may be free, or you might find that you are charged for using a teller. Some internet banks may not have someone you can contact for assistance. So, before opening a checking account, be sure to ask what customer service assistance is available and how much it will cost.
